Materials & Care

Material: hand-thrown Jingdezhen porcelain, painted by hand and kiln-fired at 1250°C so the portrait is fused into the glaze rather than printed on the surface. Finished with a moisture-resistant inner seal.

• Cleaning: wipe gently with a soft, dry or barely damp cloth. Avoid abrasive pads, scouring powder and harsh chemical cleaners.
• Temperature: avoid sudden temperature changes — for example pouring boiling water into a cold urn, or moving it from a warm room onto a cold surface. Thermal shock can crack porcelain.
• Handling: lift by the base with both hands and keep it away from the edge of tables. This is fired ceramic, not resin or plastic, so treat it as you would fine china.
• Washing: hand-wash only if needed. Do not put it in a dishwasher or microwave.
• Display: keep out of continuous direct sunlight to preserve the hand-painted colours.
